This book was another beautiful story written by Kristin Hannah. My second of hers and definitely will not be my last. The characters she has developed are interesting and pull at your heart strings. The way she has made such a beautiful story about such a terrible time period in our history just stands as a testament to the fact she is an amazing writer. I loved the female characters in this novel and it makes history come alive while making the reader want to keep discovering their stories even deeper. Just an all around beautiful book.

What a gorgeous masterpiece showcasing what we lose, learn, and love during war times. Stories almost so tragic to believe, with the gnawing fear to know that this is real. To think these things happened to innocent people losing so much and so many is just breathtaking and truly showcases how unstoppable love and the human spirit is.
