So I read all the books over the weekend, and then I needed a day to process everything before I could write the reviews. This series took me so many places, mostly dark places. This book, the stuff that happens in this book...I just can't. It was a fitting end to the series. Again, I don't want to go into the storyline because it is best to go in blind. However, if you made it this far, you are in for the long haul. YOU CANNOT read this book without reading 24690, Whiteout, Welcome to Whitlock (3 book series) and then this book. This series exhausted me, it took me to hell, it took me to the white room and then it took me to darkness....however, I made it through. Psyche is a little worse wear and needs to heal after the places its been. This series took me darker than I have ever been before, and elicited so many emotions that I almost feel evil for wishing some of the things I wished for but I made it out of Whitlock. I survived and I hope that all of you will too!
What an ending. My heart pounded, trying to beat out of my chest through the whole book. The characters are vibrant and strong willed. I was holding on to my seat at the each turn never knowing what to expect. The love Everleigh and Bram share shines through their darkness. The story flowed well and kept me on my toes. I don’t think I was able to catch my breath the whole time. I was lost in the pages and along for a disturbingly beautiful ride.
Wow… this book found my limit. I’ve got a pretty thick skin but the things that happened in this book took it too far. I was really enjoying the series and it’s gone so downhill. The first book was great but the second is when things really started to get messy and decline. The story was getting sloppier and sloppier and you can tell the author struggled to get out of the hole they dug.
Besides me disliking the book, this book was FULL of editing mistakes. Things like misusing “heal” instead of “heel” for a foot and random quotation marks that weren’t connected to a quote… I found at least 7 of these mistakes and it is very jarring. Thank goodness I read this with kindle unlimited and I didn’t waste money on something edited so poorly.
To any fans of this series I feel like this book just isn’t worth the time. If you look at my last review on the 3rd book I was actually looking forward to reading more of the spin offs of this series but now I don’t think I’ll ever pick up another one of these books. I wanted to finish this book to make sure I could form a full opinion on it and my opinion is I wish I would’ve DNFd. Actually knowing what I know now, I wish I would’ve never picked this one up. How disappointing
Oh and if you wanted spice there is ZERO in this book. Unless you’d consider someone sucking on a half chub spice that is literally the ONLY thing that happens. I’m not even exaggerating.
