The Citadel of Weeping Pearls : a captivating space-time-travelling and mystery story , mixing high-stake level politics and conflicts with intimate family connections and drama, in the fantastic Xuya universe.
The Tea Master and the Detective: a brilliant detective story, with a "tea master" mindship joining the investigation of the client-detective, lots of secrets to uncover and unexpected plot twists.
The narrators did a great job on these.

I found the court intrigue too hard to follow on audio. I’m trying just the Tea Master and the Detective on its own.

I really like the writing style and I want to read more books by this author.

SpoilerIt's interesting how this author's stories often address that woman against woman competition, that often happens in our society in a polite, but not less fierce way than competition among men.
You had it as a central theme in [b:The Citadel of Weeping Pearls|34713572|The Citadel of Weeping Pearls|Aliette de Bodard|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1490770050l/34713572._SY75_.jpg|47480065] with the empress mother versus her bright daughter and the relegated to second place sister versus the bright sister.

This is an import theme that isn't enough talked about in literature but [a:Aliette de Bodard|2918731|Aliette de Bodard|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1645728070p2/2918731.jpg] nails it.

The Tea Master and the Detective is just  fantastic, if you are a fan of Sherlock Holmes give this one a try.

On the other hand The Citadel of Weeping Pearls is a good time travel yarn.
