Despite its heft, this book is readable personal, and engaging. I learned so much about the Great Migration from Isabel Wilkerson and her sources. I recommend to all American citizens. You should know this history about our nation.

Other, more enticing books were ready to borrow or due for any in-person book club.

A beautifully written book about a tragic topic, this book should be required reading. Clearly it will take intentionality, and not just the passage of time, to vaguely compensate for this history. Thanks to the author for capturing the stories of these heroes, who probably wouldn’t characterize themselves as such.
