I'm filled with contradictions on this one. It was entertaining, yet the writing wasn't particularly good (cheesy dialogues, short "paragraphs" etc.)
The premise was fun, the story itself is fun! However, if you stop and think about it for more than a few seconds, most of it falls apart?

[Spoilers ahead] Not only is our main character supposed to be smart but ends up being average smart, but the concept as a whole... Does not hold? As other reviewers noted, if Jason's abduction is the starting point for an infinite number of abducted Jasons, there should be an infinite number of Danielas to go back to as well, especially if he's "gone" for a month and she noticed her husband being different. There has to be a version where she finds Jason2 too weird and leaves his ass maybe? And also it's a little disappointing that Jason2 seeked out a version of Jason that was "his polar opposite" (Aka a perfect family life) as if there's no Jason out there with a perfect family life and a perfect career (whatever that may be). I don't buy it? And why does "original" Jason never marvels at Jason2's creation? Isn't it unbelievable to believe this exists as a scientist?? does any of it makes any sense scientifically anyway? The more I try to explain gaps in the story, the less fun it becomes. I guess that's the lesson, don't pick apart scifi.

But as I said, all plot holes aside.... I still enjoyed it overall for what it is, a fast-paced, quickly read entertaining story.

There is some version of me in the multiverse that didn’t like this book, another that thought it was ok, another that liked it, and other that really liked it, another that never read it, and another that wrote it. None of them are this me that loved it. Imagine if we were all in the same room at the same time? We’d probably argue until we were hoarse.

Fast-paced and easy on the eyes, Dark Matter almost reads itself. (In some reality I’m sure it does.) I loved it so much that not even my tendency to read one paragraph and fall asleep was able to win the night.

You will definitely, never, probably or might could want to read this. You’ll be glad, sad, mad or even mind-blown because of it. As a dark matter of fact, all the other yous won’t care if you read it or not, but deciding to read it could very well be the most important decision you make. Or it won’t. (Inception.) Either way, let me know what you think!

Five out of five finger string theories!

This book left me ravenously tearing through page after page. The imagery, action, and human connections are brilliantly written and the plot gave just the right amount of thrill and hope. A must read for any thriller/sci-fi fan.

I'm too distractible to ever say I couldn't put a book down, but this book was about as close as I get. A thrilling pageturner, meticulously plotted, fun from beginning to the very end. Loved it.

If you are a fan of high speed sci-fi, this is the book for you. While action packed and fun, I also found myself incredibly frustrated at times. Some of the characters didn't have much depth and seemed only to exist to be the antagonist, and the main character doesn't spare a lot of time for caution. The other source of my frustration was probably only that I couldn't read quickly enough to get to the ending to find out what happens! Everything did tie together really nicely, and this was one of the better adaptations of the "infinite reality" idea that I've read.
