I have so many feelings about this book, and I both enjoyed reading it and also had a hard time reading it at the same time. Emily Austin captured an experience of mental illness and trauma in such a real way that both felt comforting in its relatability but also heartbreaking in thinking about what so many people go through inside themselves that we never truly know. While I felt it had a slow start for me, I felt it really picked up by the end. I’ll be thinking about the themes of this book for a while. So much love for the character of Enid- I hope she helps a lot of people feel seen and loved ❤️

while this entire book was centered on Enid, it felt like there were so many short, overlapping stories of Enids experiences which in itself was entertaining. But what I most appreciated about this was the insight into Enid’s thoughts during her interactions in her various relationships; it was relatable for sure. Andddd the little (big) ongoing plot about the person breaking into Enids apt added some fun mystery!

This was so oddly unputdownable. I wasn’t sure why I was so invested, but dang I crushed this book in one day! Also her thoughts on the gender reveal party was hilariously (and sadly) accurate.
