Emily Austin writes anxiety, depression, and other mental disorders in such a fun, painful, honest, and real way. I will happily keep reading whatever she puts out!

4.5 ⭐️ I really enjoyed this! It was a fast read: I appreciated the way the chapters were broken up and the pacing. This feels very much like a book you would like if you enjoyed “Eleanor Oliphant.” Enid is quirky and lovable and I appreciated watching her fumble and grow. I would probably give this 4.5 stars. My only critiques are personal and have nothing to do with the writing, etc. I like a smidge more hope in my books and this one, while still offering hope, felt heavier. Still enjoyable and quirky and funny and I would recommend!

My first read by this author and I can’t wait to check out her debut novel after this one! I was hesitant at first with the title, I’m not super INTO outer space, however nothing about this book went over my head. There are interesting space facts sprinkled in, however it isn’t the central catalyst for the story, so don’t let that stop you from checking this out.

I was immediately invested in Enid’s story… The true crime addicted, neurodivergent lead was relatable, her family and friends were lovable, and I really enjoyed the writing style of the author as well.

Five stars. I love this author. She makes me feel so seen. If you've ever wondered what it's like inside the mind of a neurodivergent person, read one of her books. I also highly recommend Everyone In This Room Will Someday Be Dead by her.

I really LOVED this book. The main character is imperfect and a mess. I enjoyed the pace and imperfections of the story and its characters and I was sad when I finished it because that meant I was done. The characters felt very real and relatable. At first I didn’t think I would’ve been so attached but I really did fall in love with this book and it’s cast of characters.

If I could describe this book in two words, it would be uniquely weird. But in a good way.

With a fresh narrative voice, Interesting Facts About Space is an excellent novel focused on recognizing our pasts and how to let others in. Austin’s writing style helps create Enid to be a relatable character that highlights our doubts as humans as well as living in a world as an autistic person. I also felt that the pacing that Austin utilizes was executed well and keeps you drawn in. However, if you don’t get the narrative voice or the jump-change in scenes, this book might not be for you. This book is also not for you if you don’t like graphic discussions about true crime and true crime podcasts since Enid does talk about it a lot in the book.

If you want a book similar to Gail Honeyman’s Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine or you want something similar to a Sally Rooney novel (but were left down by her work), I would definitely recommend reading Interesting Facts About Space.
