This is the first LGBTQIA book that I've read that depicts gay relationships that do not center on a coming out story. For that I give this book a small bump. The main character struggles with anxiety and commitment. As the story develops, she develops an irrational fear of bald men, and believes one is following her everywhere, and breaking into her apartment when she isn't there. She eventually seeks therapy (good on her!) and the story wraps up with her figuring out that her fear stems from a deep emotional drama of abuse, and that the person breaking into her apartment was her friend to check she was okay when no one heard form her in days My issue with this book is not in the writing itself, but in how it was marketed. It was marketers as a joyful funny read, but I didn't not find her deep downward spiral into depression and anxiety to the point of dibiliation funny at all.
Minor: Child abuse
