read harder challenge 2020: read an audiobook of poetry

I picked this for that fat positivity and didn't realize that I've heard several of these pieces before.

This style of poetry was not for me, it was too wordy for me and left little space for interpretation. I do think it it will connect with lots of people since the author really shares from her heart and own experience. It is a bit graphic at times.

I’m so in love with this book that I’m going to sign up for a zoom workshop with the poet!

I loved this book!! Some poems made me laugh out loud & others made me want to cry. What more can you ask for from a poetry collection?

I enjoyed the book and all the poems inside. I connected with some of them. Personally I don’t enjoy reading poetry but I like listening to it. So honestly it took me a bit to read through it but I still thought they were good, each one was different and didn’t sound the same in my head.

Same old bland kind of vaguely feminist poetry with the same message of loving your body and fighting off loneliness and dealing with trauma. While these are completely valid themes, they do not hold my attention enough to read yet another book about them. I would class this collection in the same genre as Rupi Kaur and Amanda Lovelace, although a bit less pretentious.
