Overall cute and low angst. The pacing felt a bit off so either nothing would happen or days would pass quickly. Lane was a bit too manic pixie dream boy, and some parts got repetitive and could benefit from an additional editor pass.
I've been pretty bad at writing reviews as I've been so busy actually reading them in an attempt to get lost in between the pages of a good book. Bad me but sorry and kinda not at the same time.
Let me just say Breakaway was the perfect read to perk me up. I found myself laughing out loud, rooting for the boys (or, as the Aussies would say, enjoying reading about the MC's rooting). I though the plot was low angst and perfectly balanced with just enough cuteness to make me sigh.
It was my magic present so thank you. I needed that.
