Love wins!

But this graphic novel. Not so much.

although this is very well intentioned, and I'm sure it will bring a lot of money to a good cause, it's definitely a flawed book.

some pieces are very touching and beautiful. but most are just about being good allies and trying to insert super heroes or comic book characters in a narrative that isn't really theirs. maybe more ideas like this will come along to really put queer stories, by queer people, in the comic book scene.

Not much to say really, its a book that speaks for itself. This anthology (is it called that when it's a comic book? Collection? Anyway-) is just overflowing with amazingly talented creators and artists. The stories and images they share are powerful and beautiful and achieve everything they mean to and I know they'll stay with me and it's a book I will keep coming back to.

Only gave it two stars because the proceedings went to the families of the victims. Otherwise it was problematic and extremely boring reading straight white men trying to victimize themselves and cry instead of prevent things like this to happen. Disappointed because I was so excited for this one.

This is one of the collections put together after the Pulse shooting in Orlando where artists and authors were invited to send in 1-2 page snippets and the proceeds would go to charity. It's a lovely idea and some of the stories really shine through (I cried a fair bit) but many of the stories fall flat or feel very counter to their message of hope and love. I liked it over all, but it probably needed less batman and more varied voices.

Rather dull and upsetting read, mostly from the perspective of allies rather than the actual queer community. Was very disappointed in it overall, and expected a lot more than just people reflecting on that one time someone came out to them. Some good pieces scattered throughout, and it was good for charity, but not uplifting or reassuring

As usual with anthologies, this is a mixed bag. There are some in here that are clearly five star worthy, and some that were... not. There was one that just plain left me wondering what in the world it was doing in this anthology. I also find that one/two page stories can be pretty hard to do sometimes, but I thought overall the artists/writers in this collection managed to use their limited space well.
