A gripping page- turner
I really enjoyed this. Some good twists, a couple of which I guessed but quite satisfying overall. Would recommend for all fans of Behind her Eyes etc.

I received a free copy of this book for review thanks to publisher William Morrow and Edelweiss.
I've been very lucky with the thrillers I've read recently but even so, it has been a while since I've been truly surprised by one. As a result, I'm going to be very vague about this book because I thoroughly enjoyed Dead to Her and I don't want to give any hints as to why I liked it so much. This is a book about four very wealthy people living in an intense socialite circle. You have Marcie, one of our protagonists and the second wife of Jason. She convinced him to leave his wife for her some years ago and now, in her mid thirties, she is beginning to worry she is no longer a trophy in his eyes. Enter Keisha, the new young twenty-something wife of Jason's boss William. Marcie starts to worry that sparks are flying between Keisha and Jason and she doesn't want to lose her meal ticket, nor her husband.
Pinborough is a new author to me (although I've heard fantastic things about her other books) and I wasn't quite sure what to expect. The writing here is phenomenal. Honestly it's a little longer than I usually like my thrillers but I was so engrossed in the story that I didn't mind. The ending gets a little repetitive and ultimately it's not the best resolution but I still really loved the majority of the plot. The side characters are also well-written and very fleshed out compared to most thrillers, which I appreciated. The story is told from both Marcie and Keisha's POV and, in a nice touch, it doesn't swap every chapter but more when it feels right for the story. This seems simple but I've read a lot of books where arbitrarily swapping every chapter can interfere with the plot and it's refreshing to see someone prioritise flow over convention.
Overall, this book was such a fantastic way to start the year. I would fully recommend going in blind and, while it won't be everyone's cup of tea, hopefully you'll enjoy this book as much as I did. It admittedly wasn't perfect but I am very picky with the ratings I give thrillers and this is definitely one of my new favourites.
Overall Rating: 4.5/5 stars

Note: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All of the opinions are my own and this did not affect my review in any way.
I received a free copy of this book and I put it off for quite a bit because I kept hearing mixed reviews about this book, however this book was the perfect example as to why we should never pre judge a book because I ended up loving it.
In Dead to Her we follow Marcie, who’s affair with Jason Maddox catapulted her into the world of the elite. Then Jason’s boss brings back a new wife, young, attractive, reckless — nobody can take their eyes off Keisha. Including Marcie’s husband. Some people would kill for the life Marcie has—what will she do to keep it?
When I first started reading this book I thought it was going to be a boring domestic thriller about rich people but in fact this was so much more. This was a brilliantly plotted and richly layered novel filled with secrets, mysteries, black voodoo magic and overall it was outstanding.
The beginning of the novel is a little slow, we are introduced to the characters one by one and we get to see who they are, their motivations and their personality. In the beginning, the plot seems very straight forward, you think you have it all figured out and it gets a little boring. However, by the middle of the book you realize that everything you thought was wrong and all of a sudden you can´t put the book down. The second half of the book is thrilling, exciting and filled with plot twist that you don’t see coming.
The setting in Savannah´s high society is interesting and unique, I had never read anything like it. At times the story gets a little messy, but when all the points are connected you are blown away by the story the author managed to create. This novel has it all, love, revenge, jealousy, envy and high society energy. I have to admit that I did not see the ending coming, it took me by surprise and honestly it left me a little unsettled.
Overall, I am glad I gave this book a chance, it was a thrilling, domestic suspense novel that honestly left me wanting a sequel. If I had to describe this book in one word it would be twisted in the best way possible. If you are looking for a psychological thriller that will leave you on the edge of your seat, this is the book for you.

Hated all the main characters. Loved "behind her eyes" so had high hopes but this just didn't do it for me.
This was definitely unexpected. I don’t know that I enjoyed it because I thought pretty much all the characters were horrible people, but it did keep my interest.
As with all of Pinborough’s books, you have to suspend reason for a few of the twists, but they are always thrilling, fast-paced, and entertaining. I particularly enjoyed the way the author explored race and class. The ending bugged me a bit, but other than that it was very enjoyable!
