I like this author but this book took too long to build. Would have been better if half as long.

Wowza this story has a lot of emotions and drama. I enjoyed the book overall, I really liked the characters and really wanted them to finally find a happily ever after and to heal from the tragedies that had affected so many lives. It's a beautifully written story which is no surprise because Courtney is a master at penning stories with hard stuff in them that you still end up loving and enjoying. Great read!

Thank you so much to @uplitreads for the opportunity to read this gifted book.

Louisa and Cody grew up together. At 18, they agreed to come back together on their shared 30th birthday regardless of where life had taken them. But soon a tragedy pulls them away from each other and they lose touch for years. A few months before their thirtieth birthday, they meet up accidentally back on Nantucket Island.

The setting of the book is gorgeous. And both of them have jobs that enable them to meet the community on the island. I really want to visit and experience Louisa's private concierge services on the island for myself.

This book explores faith, belief in prayer, and forgiveness in a way I found very moving. I love second chance romances because I love seeing a long history for a relationship and watching it reemerge. Mixing that process with Christian understanding of grace was powerful. At times, both Louisa and Cody made selfish and angry choices, and it was unclear how they could ever find each other again. If you enjoy Christian romance, I recommend you add this to your summer reading list. It's available now.

TW: drowning

Courtney Walsh weet de sfeer van Nantucket en de situatie goed te beschrijven. Echt even wegdromen in Nantucket.

I love a sweet christian romance and when my friend kept telling me to pick up a Courtney Walsh book I happily complied. The stars even aligned further when the author herself reached out to me herself to read and review the book I already had in my hands due to the tour i'm currently on.

I was a bit intimidated at the length of this book for a romance but I am happy to report that the story hooked me from the first few pages, the plot was full of rich depth and I can't ever turn down a second chance romance. It was full of found family, forgiveness, and learning to stand on your own two feet...turning your passions into reality despite what the haters say.

Cody and Louisa have a past...one that they each thought would last forever. When tragic events spiral out of control they are separated for over a decade but still have that irrevocable tug towards the other. Fate brings them back together in a life changing way that makes them reconsider what they lost and what they are willing to work through to get it all back.

Louisa and Cody had such a great connection and chemistry. This is a slow burn romance as they learn to trust one another and build back what was lost. Walsh captured the vibes of Nantucket so well between the sailing, sandy shores, and the people who lived there. I need to go book my vacation at The Good Life immediately. (if you read this..you'll know what i'm talking about)

I will definitely be picking up more of Walsh's books in the future. This is the perfect summer romance you'll be needing on your 2021 TBR lists.

Are you a fan of second chance love? Have you ever wondered "but what if?" Do you sometimes just need a sweet romance story?

I have been blessed with the opportunity to connect with author Courtney Walsh on Instagram over the last couple of months and my gosh, what a lovely human being. We have bonded over all things music and theatre and our mutual love of reading.

In the book "Is It Any Wonder," Courtney takes us on a beautiful journey through grief, conquering your fears, forgiveness, family struggles, and lost love.

I loved the emotional pushes and pulls between Louisa and Cody. They were first loves who, through tragic loss and circumstances, ended up finding their way back into each other's lives.

The whole book gave me gushy love feels and is the PERFECT read for someone looking for a clean summertime romance.

Summary: Louisa and Cody made a pact to return to Nantucket on their 30th birthday to continue their childhood tradition of exchanging birthday wishes, but after a tragedy struck twelve years prior their friendship and the love they shared was put to the test. Can they find forgiveness and rekindle the love that they're both certain was once in a lifetime?

My take: This book was so sweet and I couldn't help but really love the characters! I was rooting for them to reconnect and fall back in love as soon as I cracked the book and met them!

The scenery made me want to hop in my car and head to Nantucket myself for some boating and beach time. With that being said, this is more than just a light-hearted book. The story does have a tragedy at the heart of it, which provides more depth and emotion. My only complaint is that it felt a bit long at parts, but I do recognize that background details are very important to the storyline!

Beautiful story about second chances and forgiveness. Loved it!
