Soooooo much better than the prequel
I was really bored with the prequel. Well I'm glad i continued reading! This book is exciting and has lots of shocking discoveries. Read it!

This KU read was a pleasant surprise. A magical world of the brink of destruction and souls forced to fight for, and against, those that lead it. It’s dangerous, dark and quick paced, introducing characters and situations at a steady clip that keeps things moving while still explaining what’s going on, without the dreaded info dump.
Third person, multiple POV, Cliffhanger, fantasy
Rating = R
Character age range = Adult (Not saying her age, as it would give mild spoilers)
M/F
Pros:
- World building
- Character development, they all seem complex and have depths unseen by the other players
- The underlying story is brutal
Cons:
- POV switches could be smoother.

this is my second Jessica Wayne Jessica Wayne book. Knowing I gave Accidental Fae 2 stars, I was skeptical but hopeful because Warrior of Magick should be my cup of chaotic tea. Assassins, governing bodies acting shady, arch-nemesis', like it should have been a hit in the bag.
When sifting through my thoughts and why this book wasn't clicking. What I kept going back to how it felt like the fourth or fifth draft but not the final, published novel. I mean that with all the respect in the world. It is like a house, with a great foundation- a great world, interesting governing system, complex characters and enemies-to-lovers. The groundwork is solid, the frames are sturdy but the what was made from such beginnings was a boring, standard, run-of-the-mill house. It was like someone just pointed at a showroom house and said I'll take it. There is no flavour. There is no spice. Just designed in millennial grey. Am I taking this metaphor too far? Who cares its my review and the girls that get it get it. iykyk.

I enjoyed this book. I like Sienna and Zane's dynamic, and I'm interested in seeing more of this world and its magic. I can't wait to read more of Sienna's journey and see her and Daxon's relationship grow into something more.

3.5 Stars. I enjoyed the 2 main characters but I wanted more from the side characters. Also the passage of time was a bit jumpy which brought me out of the book sometimes.
