The first chapter was great and I really liked the premise of this book. However the end was very abrupt and left so many things without explanation. Kind of feels like the author is trying to keep her options open regarding whether this novel will get a sequel. The romance felt a bit random and forced. Overall I enjoyed Hide but I feel like it’s just not very deep and the story could have been more, had more time/pages been invested.

This book did a lot without ever dragging. I enjoyed the characters and a few of the twists genuinely surprised me. The book unraveled in a way that was satisfying all the way to the end.

This was a meh for me. The story itself didn't feel very fleshed out, and there were a lot of cliché tropes without much substance. It almost felt like bits of the story were pieced together to cover up major plot holes, but they didn't quite line up.

I feel like the author had big opinions she wanted to hammer into the reader, but really missed the mark with blunt narratives and a barely-held together plot. It was a quick read and held my attention for the most part, though. Side note: This has been classified as horror, but read more like a YA suspense to me.

I'd only recommend this if you're looking to kill some time between novels or need to have something playing in the background (audio book).
