Incredible book. Could not put it down. The matter-of-fact writing style really keeps the tension going.

Incredible. Absolutely incredible. Not just the story itself but the writing and research and depth of understanding of the men who miraculously survived the expedition. A portrait of leadership if there ever was one. Un-put-downable.

An extremely well documented account that reads like Jules Verne. I do wish more time had been spent at the end on the aftermath of the exhibition though.

Great true adventure story! The outcome is known from the beginning, but the method of getting there is amazing.

History and expeditions can sometimes just a leist of dates and names. They author did a good job of making the crew's personalities leap off the page and also gives insight into the mindstate of Shakleton and his crew as they made theor way out of the Weddle Sea.
