3.5 stars i think. maybe 3.25! this was cute, but it felt quite long and drawn out and i was hoping to see a bit more of the two love interests actually interacting. it didn’t feel like there was a ton of romance for them to establish actually being in love on! i did enjoy the characters & the setting, but it took me about 40% of the book to be really interested! therefore not rating it super highly, would still recommend for someone who likes fantasy with a bit of comedy

It took a bit to get into this one, but overall it was a really fun read. The pacing was a little weird and it's definitely verbose. I thought the over the top nature of the wording was fun though. It's definitely whimsical, even when it does get a dark. As annoying as Lizzie is, she quickly became my favorite character.

I’m surprised that I loved this book as much as I did. The narrator was a delight to read. The chemistry was tangible. And the side characters were fun! It was a very lovely love story.

This book. This book!

I can’t believe I’ve waited so long to read this. It’s hilarious, it’s fantastic, it’s super sapphic.

I am so excited to see where this series goes.

TLDR: Brigerton, if the duke was a masc Daddy, and if Lady Whistledown was petulant fairy demoted to the mortal world. From there the fantasy arc gets chaotic but otherwise fantasticly queer and lewd without being too explicit to refer to my MIL without absolute shame.
