This book held so many surprises and fascinating turns of events. I love how Moning is able to keep the story going and adds so many interesting concepts. I loved Jada and I loved that we were still able to get Mac's point of view, too. A lot of the time with series that switch to focus on a new character, the original main character is forgotten and you never hear what they are up to or how their life is going anymore. I'm always curious about what they are up to. I'm always eager to get back into their minds and see how they have eased into this new personality they have discovered.
One thing that I just can't seem to understand is how did Dani age so quickly in the silvers. Most of the time when they go into the silvers, it's only been a day for them but in the real world, it's been a month. It worked the opposite way with Dani. she went in for a few weeks and aged years. Maybe in future books, I will be able to understand this or maybe that's part of the mystery of the Silvers.
Either way, I loved this book the most. It was fun and I loved the bickering between characters. It was fun and made me smile.

I read the beginning few pages so far and has oaky said "oh shit now way!!!!"
It's amazing and holy crap is all I have to say so far
Update:
I finished this and holy crap buckets was this abrupt!
I am Supppppeerrr disappointed at how it ended and how abruptly it ended. Like, shit!!
Either way, it was still awesome! It was a bit different, but not really, if that makes sense.
I can see why people would dislike it, but I still love this series, and now I have to wait a million years for the next one. Great.
I knew I should have waited until the next one was out to read it. :(

This had a different vibe than the other books. It was a little darker. I had just come around to liking Dani's point of view and we switched back. I felt like I got to know some of the characters better though. I liked it and will read the next.
This book was between a 3 and a 4 star for me.Thank goodness Mac is back! I wasn't a fan of Dani as the main character and narrator. I enjoyed having Mac perspective for most of the book. Less 'Fecks' is a-okay by me. Don't get me wrong, this book still has some issues, but nothing like Iced.
First of all it felt like one too many times, KMM was trying to defend her Ryodan-Dani-Christian love triangle. There were a few comments about how Ryodan has seen girls grow from infancy into adulthood then slept with them, because they are no longer children and it is always going to be the way of his life as an immortal. WRONG!!! If you watch someone grow up you shouldn't have strong romantic feelings for them, they should always remain strongly in the like-a-son-or-daughter (or niece or nephew etc) category. There is no blurred lines in that relationship. Go sleep with a woman who you haven't watched and protected since infancy. The entire argument just feels like a defense that a pedo would use. "Well she is almost an adult now.." or "She will be an adult soon, and I have feelings I can't control..."
That said it does feel a little different now. I think I just have to accept I am never going to be okay with Ryodan and Dani, or alternatively Christian and Dani (still feels pedo, he started liking her at 14). But KMM seems intent on running with it, so hopefully my creeped-out shivers will stop eventually.
I also felt that this book didn't have a succinct enough story and ending. It felt like it just stopped and there was more that needed to be told for this book to feel finished. I know KMM is writing another one, but there are just too many loose threads.
I am okay if the Dageus story is the premise for the next book, but some of the other storylines should have at least been dealt with, not even resolved, just not left with zero explanation.
I will read the next one because I have too many unanswered questions. Hopefully KMM can hit her stride again with Mac, so the next one doesn't feel so stunted.

Since Jade is Dani, but a separate personality. But I still can't help but feel that despite the increase in age and different personality it is still Dani.I also felt that this book didn't have a succinct enough story and ending. Spoiler
Mac is still invisible, and incredibly horny. Barrons somewhat apologized for the memory wipe, but they haven't made up yet. Dani/Jade ran off with the spear. What about Christian is he still okay, will he go AWOL? WTF is with Barrons and Ryodan with the presumed dead Dageus in the basement.I am okay if the Dageus story is the premise for the next book, but some of the other storylines should have at least been dealt with, not even resolved, just not left with zero explanation.

This series has lost a bit of the magic of the first 5 books, but I'm still enjoying it for the most part. We definitely need more Barrons though. And not a huge fan of the whole Jada storyline. It feels like it was only invented to explain some stuff that happened without making someone the villain.
This book started with Barrons POV and then went back to Mac's. There was a lot of non communication and miscommunication that caused unnecessary problems. The action was good but the overthinking and analyzing of each and every situation slowed the book down.
