I'm still so sad and sobbing as I type this 😭 Genuinely an intense, depressing end to a great series. I'm not even sure what to say without spoiling anything. The bond between Buruu and Yukiko is still my favorite thing ever, and they have to go through so much to end this war. So much and so many are lost to get there. So many emotions, and just UGH. Amazing ending, loved every min of it, but I am still sad lol.

fast paced, non stop bloodshed as Shima is ripped apart by hatred. Does Yukiko have the courage to pull together enemies and to save Shima from itself? Have kleenex ready - you're going to need it!

Definitely the best book of the three. The series shows a nice, solid progression, and culminates well in this final installment.

It was possibly a tad longer than it needed to be, but it did provide a genuinely exciting and emotional conclusion.

very very vague spoilers ahead like i wouldn’t even consider it a spoiler but just in case

i didn’t enjoy most of this book. like it was fine but half of it was the one battle, the last 50 pages or so really weren’t what we should’ve been leading up to imo, and it was more violence over plot like i felt like not a ton happened? didn’t hate it by any means just didn’t think it was as good as the other two. the ending did leave me SOBBING for a half hour though so that was rude and means i must’ve been at least a little more attached than i thought

Best book in the series by far. That's all I'm gonna say.

Beautiful. I mean, horrible but heart-wrenchingly beautiful. I can't believe it took me so long to finish this series but OMFG was it worth it... That ending was incredibely intense, I can't wait to read more of Kristoff's books!
