I find the book useful as it talks about some interesting fact-based events of the world around us.
The overly statistical approach in some parts of the book is a bit too much at times and there are some issues that I feel are avoided and lack further explanation and discussion. I also don't agree with some of the author's views, especially those on climate change and human rights, but I appreciate his arguments.

Lovely outlook- from a probabilist
Not entirely sure what this book is supposed to be — a personal memoir of the author’s work and experiences, a general non-fiction book about global health, or a psychology book about pessimism and bias. It's a lovely culmination of the author's life work, but is perhaps much longer than it needs to be. It's still worth reading (or at least skimming) in order to change your mindset.
