This was a really engaging and unique retelling of Beauty and the Beast! The characters were all well-developed and the world building was great without being info dump-y. The modern cross into fantasy also felt seamless and not a forced or campy plot device, which it sometimes can when merging modern and fantasy. I’m glad I finally got around to reading this and am excited to read more in this series!

POV: multi first person

You can expect: retelling, magic, curse, friends to lovers, forced proximity, touch him/her and die, he falls first.

Rep: queer side character, FMC with cerebral palsy, grief, cancer

CW: death of a parent, cancer, violence

A bit predictable but the ending was fast paced.

I didn't know I needed a retelling of Beauty and the Beast in my life right now, but apparently I did! I really enjoyed this story and the characters and will definitely read the next in the series.
