Not sure if it was just the audiobook reader, but this book seems to have a different tone to it than the first. I have to say that I enjoyed the parts of the book set in shanghai more than the rest, but this part was, unfortunately, shorter than I'd like. Still, it was very hard to put this book down.

I kinda struggled with parts 1 and 2 in this book. For some reason I couldnt get really hooked into it like most of Shadowhunters stories. However part 3 really did pull me in!
