The author introduces the FMC’s best friend, the only other person she cares about besides herself and her mother, a charming gay guy, justo to kill him in front of her  20 pages later. And she gets over it  barely a couple pages later.  No, just, no. Also, the plot doesn’t really make any sense, it’s really tropey

I really enjoyed this book! It was fast paced, the magic system was very interesting and the characters were great. The slow burn was slow but worth the pay off. I’m excited to see where this series goes for sure!

i really enjoyed the first 10 chapter of the book and maybe the last 15 chapters but somewhere in the middle i got lost and bored a lot. i think this has potential of being better and maybe i read the next book but not right now. i will say that knox and deliah are a cute couple. the found family in this was amazing
