Amazing story and great opening to sequels! Did i immediately fall in love with Easton? yes. Did the rest of the book feel like a how to guide to dealing with grief? yes absolutely. Do i forgive the author for ripping my heart out and forcing me to deal with these feelings? not yet.

Author makes fake accounts and promotes with good fantasy books for purchases on TikTok. The writing is amateur. Conversation and internal dialogue is severely lacking. Story’s premise is good. Executed poorly.

The writing style didn’t speak to me at all. It gave the story a childish style. If you are looking for an easy book were not too much difficult things happen this is the book for you. I almost dnf’ed multiple times. Don’t think I would have missed much.
Read this if your bored and don’t want to cancel any plans because this book is so easy to put down. Dull writing, the only good thing was the scrap of mystery. I would never recommend it to someone that I like. Almost DNF but I’m too stubborn.

A good book with lots of interesting story elements
I needed a few days to collect my thoughts after finishing this book because I just wanted to sit with the magic for a while. This was written in such an accessible way - I think it’s a great book for those who haven’t read much fantasy before, but even those who are already familiar with the genre can find joy in reading this. It dealt with darker issues so well, while also maintaining a whimsical feeling. There were a few predictable moments but they didn’t bother me because I was so wrapped up in the story. Can’t wait for the next book ✨✨✨
