It was ok
I think I'm just done with romance for a while, because I wasn't overly thrilled or vested in this book. The characters came off very bland to me and the plot was too predictable.

Love love love this story! I have been waiting for this story and I am sooo excited to listen to this! BeBe has such a secretive past and I have always been in awe of her. She has done some amazing things...yeah not all good but still she is impressive. Now she is trying to make this second chance at life be better. Better mom, better daughter better choices. I love her strength and devotion.
I really can’t get enough of this series! I loved all these characters. Dozer is a great add to this story. Being the BFF of BeBe he really puts the screws to Griff. Oh how I loved it! We meet a few new and see some old characters with every book. They are all intriguing and i can’t wait for all their stories!
I listened to this on audio. Aiden Snow and Savannah Peachwood are the narrators. They both do amazing jobs. They brought this story to life.

I have been looking forward to Bebe’s story for a while now! This book did not disappoint! It was a fast paced story that got me hooked from the very beginning! I would definitely recommend this one!

I’m going to be up front about the fact that I thought I’d have an issue with this story. You see, one of my son’s name is Griffin, and we often call him Griff. I always have an issue with love stories where the hero has the name of one of my sons. Usually I substitute in another name. But they kept switching between both names. Ahhhh! It took me some time to get over that. Totally my brain’s fault and mothering to do with the author or her writing. This is an amazing story and, other than the name thing, it sucked me right in.
We learn more about Bebe in this story. How she ended up hacking for the bad guys and how/why she got caught. Make no mistake, Bebe is in no way a bad guy herself and she never was. Youth, circumstances, and the greed of others is how she ended up on the wrong side of the law. So how did Griffin end up there, too?
Well, Griffin’s story would contain too many spoilers so I’m not going to tell you. But I can tell you that Bebe and Griff have great chemistry. Regardless of his motivations, it’s very clear that the connection these two have is true and pure. I have to laugh at myself because I typed about 5 different sentences here to add to my thoughts on Griffin, but they all seemed spoilerish so short and sweet it is for his description.
This is a very fast read and will keep you engaged throughout. While the others at Jameson Security are involved in this story, it’s not necessary to have read the other books to read this one. It can stand on its own. Although they are all linked together and I would suggest reading them all, especially before the next book is released. The one I’ve been waiting for; the story of Malik. Where has he been? How has he been? Ugh! I can’t wait!

Griffin: Anti-hero, tough exterior, has a kindness toward kids
Bebe Grimshaw: We have seen glimpses of her in the previous 3 books. We know she is turning towards being a white hat hacker away from what sent her to prison.
I have been intrigued by Bebe Grimshaw throughout the Jameson Force series to date. We know bit of her past, but now we get the whole story, and boy what a story! I really like Bebe’s character. She is strong, resilient and has so much moxie. She is a very likeable character.
Griffin comes off as indifferent and callous at first. We quickly see his kind and sweet side. Even with a kill order for Bebe from his boss, he is doing what he can to figure out what is right and protect Bebe and her son. You can see him fighting with himself from the beginning knowing he doesn’t want to harm them. It takes a while to find out who he is, and it is a twist that made me slight angry but overall relieved.
Bebe's son Aaron has a very sweet minor role in the story. I enjoyed the complexity and layers he added to the interactions. He has an aged feel about him for being such a young boy.
Code Name: Hacker, was crazy with its twist and turns. As always Bennett leaves us wanting more and I like most cannot wait for her next installment of this series. Hacker was a 5/5 read for me. This is not a typical genre for me, but if Bennett puts her name on it, I WILL READ IT!

The story
I’ve been waiting for Bebe’s story since her first appearance in Code Name: Genesis. Her backstory intrigued me so much. Genius hacker who intentionally got caught hacking nuclear codes to prevent them from getting into the wrong hands and then taking the fall and in turn having to leave her 3-year-old son behind? Hell yes, sign me up! It sounded like one hell of a woman and I wanted to know more about her!
Bebe did not disappoint. She was an incredibly strong and resilient character. Vulnerable when it counted but also very determined when it came to things she wanted. Griff, well honestly? Besides his morals, there wasn’t much that I knew about him. His character wasn’t as fleshed out as I would have liked, and the same also goes for the relationship development between him and Bebe. It was pretty insta. I just wanted a bit more than what was told but granted this is a romantic suspense novel.
To end this on a more positive note, I absolutely loved that small twist. I never saw it coming and I think, very few readers will expect it. On the one hand, I’m a tiny bit disappointed not to get this other certain angle but on the other hand, I’m extremely satisfied with this small surprise we got here.
Another thing I really liked were the secondary characters. Kynan is getting more and more awesome it seems, and Aaron is simply the best kid a mother like Bebe could wish for (though any mother really).
The narration
There seemed to be a discrepancy between the two narrating styles. While Savannah Peachwood used a British accent to portray Kynan, Aiden Snow did not. It made me question why because I do think that it should have been uniform. Either both narrators do it or neither one does it.
Other than that both were great though. I really like the color of Savannah Peachwood’s voice. It sounds young and fresh and very pleasing to listen to. Aiden Snow’s voice is sexy as hell. I enjoy his way of narrating, it’s very natural.

*I received a free copy of Code Name: Hacker. This has in no way influenced my voluntary review which is honest and unbiased.*
There's a lot to say for this one, but not that much I can share without spoiling anything.... there's a lot of tension throughout the story, and I couldn't click fast enough to get to the next page.
As always, Bennett's writing is addictive, and I always want more once I finish reading one of her books. That is also the case with this one.
