Really good. I think I liked this the best of the series so far. Also liked the personal stuff at the end. We'll see how things go with the Queens Hands. :)

This book was the first in the series where the love triangle really started wearing on my nerves. So I was glad when it seemed to wrap up one side in the ending. Which will be great if it's true, though expect it is not. Also the plot felt a bit repetitive - this is the what, 3rd? book that's about people being different people/people inside other people.

I was just as excited to read this book as all the rest. I love this series and I hope the author write more but it looks like it may be the end. If this book is the end of this series, it left me wanting more. Alex Craft is a Grave witch but she can WAY more than that. All her friends and characters in this book are great. I could see this series as a movie and it would be so good. Lots of special effects to give this series a great new shot at the BIG screen. I could also see a TV series which ever way they go this would be as big a hit as Supernatural has been all these seasons! I recommend anyone and everyone to read this series!

I really enjoyed this book. The story was novel and the characters and their interplay kept my attention. It felt nostalgic, as well, it took me back to when I first started reading urban fantasy and it was all so exciting.

I'd forgotten how much fun Price's fae-mortal world was! Alex is battling zombies as she attempts to figure out how and why there are mis-matched souls guiding dead bodies. An excellent mystery wrapped up in this Urban Fantasy package.

This one broke my heart, but it was necessary. The plot felt just a little plodding, because it was relatively low on action, but I still really liked the story. Good to see some planeweaving as well.

Enjoyed the castle being in play. It is making me wonder if Alex is going to get her own court and not have to pick one at all. Guess we'll maybe eventually find out. I don't think she's going to get to stay an Independent, that's for sure.

So this one was really good for me. A true UF. It didn't concentrate on the triangle of her death and Falin. As I've always said, neither is good for her as Falin is owned by the Queen, and death never can be open with her. They are good transitions but nothing more IMO.

So with the love life not the center of attention we get a great mystery that has lines on multiple fronts. If you read the anthology Kicking It, you would've been introduced to Briar and her partner. I really like these two but think that Briar did some thing really questionable in this one. I still really like her character and wonder if the side series will every emerge.

Alex has to find out how and who is putting souls in other bodies and keeping alive with magic. And the end game of why? I thought the over all plot was really good and it kept me interested throughout. Very happy after the last one that really was Meh.

My review and an extended sample of the audiobook are posted at Hotlistens.com.

I was very excited to get a new book in the Alex Craft series. Iā€™ve really enjoyed this series from the beginning. It was a little hard to get into this one. It has been a while since I read the previous book, so I didnā€™t really remember what happened in that story. But it didnā€™t take that long and I was deep into this book and I had all the information that I needed to enjoy this story.

This one starts off with Alex out to a lunch with a friend when she feels the dead near back. It is strange when the ā€œdeadā€ that she is feeling is walking by her. She gets up to follow him. Come to find out, it is a dead body with a soul in it. She accidently pulls the soul out of the body, only to find out that the soul didnā€™t belong with that body, but someone else entirely. Turns out that this isnā€™t the only time it happens.

This was a fun story with a lot of great investigative work as Alex and Briar try to solve this case. I really enjoyed the investigative part of this story. The romance part of the story really annoyed me. The complications between Alex and Death are starting to make me not enjoy their relationship. Death is just making things really hard on Alex. Iā€™m just over it.

I know I didnā€™t go into the investigative part of the story very much, but I really feel like you need to experience it for yourself. I donā€™t want to give anything away. I really love Alex. I love this world that Kalayna Price has created. The secondary characters in this series are great. I love them all. Iā€™m not a huge fan of the romance, but thatā€™s okay. I do have a feeling that something will change with the next book (Iā€™m not give more details than that). Iā€™m excited for the next book. I hope I donā€™t have to wait too long.

Narration
I continue to love Emily Duranteā€™s narration of this series. I think the voices she chose for each character fits them well. There isnā€™t a voice that stands out. Not a lot of accents or odd voices, but she just does a great job with the narration. A solid performance with great pacing and tones.
