I hated it. I told my friends I wouldn't finish it. But I couldn't look away.
JK Rowling with parasites in her eyes, fox shit, incest, transphobia... and many many worms.
Disgusting, twisted, horny. I loved it in a fucked up kinda way. 4 stars as I found Vanya's parts in the italic writing hard to follow at times.

There were passages in this book that truly blew me away, but overall I found myself lost, and feeling like there was something missing that didn’t quite make this horror for me. It felt like the author was trying hard to ick me out, but there was no tension building, or no building feeling of unease, which I tend to expect from the genre. It was just all bad bad bad stuff happening. There was no easing up to give small moments of hope before taking it away, so in some ways I felt desensitized to the horrible things that were happening. Maybe that was part of the point? When it is constant, we stop feeling it. Was I dissociating through the whole book? Possibly.

Absolutely disgusting, filthy, disturbing, and features a seemingly endless list of trigger warnings. This book makes you squirm. I had such a visceral reaction reading this and I am not sure if I will recover!!
Also, Xavier deserved to live and his mom was my least favorite character. That, to me, was the worst scene in the book. Probably because it was the one that felt the most realistic.
