This book really surprised me. I wasn't expecting it, but it actually had a decent amount of plot, and the characters were interesting and complex. It didn't feel like I had to suspend disbelief, or ignore cheesy prose. It was surprisingly well written, with good pacing. The way the author built tension between the two was *chef's kiss* and it felt like a genuine, believable shift from disliking each other to falling for each other. 
It's a mafia romance tho, with pretty old school Godfather-esque power structures, so expect a bit of sexism etc. But it's never tone in a distasteful way, and the main character is completely aware of how old fashioned it is.
My only critique would be that the tension at the end felt a little manufactured, but the miscommunication only lasted for a chapter. So yeah, would recommend tbh
