Loved, loved, loved this book - I haven’t fallen for a book like this in a long time - truly one of my favorites in recent memory; I kept trying to slow my reading down to make it last forever.

I can’t begin to talk about everything I loved so much in this book, so here’s a a tiny window: the characters are so beautifully drawn, and their conflicts, growth, dreams, complexities fill the pages in the most miraculous way. The writing itself is so gorgeous: just perfumed and sensuous and emotionally brimming at every moment. It is unusually gorgeous food writing,  unusually gorgeous romance writing, unusually gorgeous writing about addiction, grief, loss, love. I cried many times and I reread passages over and over because - though the language overflows and reads so fast - it is just so full of pleasure and detail and deep emotional observation in the most personal and incredible way.

I will read every word Jeff Zentner writes forever. I held this one to my heart for a long time after I finished reading and already miss it. 😭💜💜💜
