Loved this book, but it was a bit frustrating at times how oblivious Mallory is. Loved the chemistry between the two MCs, and would have liked a bit more spice but I know this is Ali Hazelwood’s YA novel so it makes sense.

I honestly didn't realise this was supposed to be YA until I read the acknowlegements. It didn't really read like it at all. Obviously just because the protagonists are young doesn't automatically make it YA. I guess maybe it fits into that gap between YA and adult fiction that New Adult was trying to fill, but I definitely think it leans more towards adult romance rather than YA.

That said, I did like this book. It was fun, while dealing with some serious issues. I loved the family dynamics and thought there were some good characters and the plot mostly worked. Any minor issues were easily ignored through the reading experience.
