I ended this book out of breath, with tears in my eyes. I couldn’t put it down. What a wild tale about the true meaning of love, soul mates, fame, and family. A story of Hollywood glamour and lost happiness and
queer love
.

It was a little slower than I would have liked, BUT this was an absolutely beautiful book! The storytelling was on point, and the way in which the author made us both love and hate Evelyn Hugo was brilliant!

Evelyn Hugo and the people through her life were all so complex and incredible to read, but I would say our framing character Monique fell a little flat. Maybe it's because we only got a small glimpse into her life, but it felt like she learned and applied the lessons from Evelyn's life so quickly and efficiently it didn't have any payoff for what she was dealing with (until the end). I love Harry and how kaleidoscopic queer love can be, how it can easily lie outside the bounds of simple labels. Evelyn Hugo is so layered and complex and fascinating in how she will get what she wants in any way she can.

Well what a life…
Lots of people recommended me this book so I had to read it.
As always Taylor Jenkins Reid knows how to write, it’s very easy to read and you always want to know what’s coming next! And let me tell you this is a prowess when you know how much I didn’t like Evelyn Hugo.
I could not care less about Evelyn, Celia, Monique and co… The only one likable was Harry and poor guy!
It’s still a good book and a great story. I like how transitions are done between the different eras, very flowing.

I don’t think I’ve ever read such an impactful book. I’m almost too stunned to think rn. There’s so much to take away from this and I feel as though I’ve just had years worth of life experience in these 24 hours. I love this book. It’s genius and unlike any I’ve read before. I was crying non-stop the last few chapters too.😪😮‍💨 I will be thinking about this indefinitely. At least, it will definitely distract me from my nearing exam(this is a bad thing, my mother would say).
