An wonderful finale to the Mermaids of Eriana Kwai series
Following the now mermaid Meela, and Lysi as they seek help in reclaiming the serpent from Adaro, taking them all across the ocean searching for allies and aid, all while trying to keep how to control the serpent to themselves
Plagued with a desire for revenge, Meela and Lysi struggle in their search and with each other.
Adding in a human element and a new perspective of a human in the military dealing with the sudden attacks of a giant serpent led by an unknown Merman
There was a few unnecessary fights between the girls, them seeming to be mad at each other at times simply for the sake of being mad and needing conflict, but overall their relationship deepened a lot, especially when Meela realised what her feelings were doing to her
One thing I believe would have improved the story somewhat, while there was an epilogue set a decade later following the human, Ben, having married one of the girls from Meela's massacre crew with their son visiting Eriana Kwai to visit the museum and learn the story of The Host of Eriana, it would have been nice to get an epilogue of the girls.
There was a hint of them both being by the island in the final lines, but it would have been nice to get a small look into what became of our protagonists
Overall, a great end to the series, and looking forward to Tiana's next books

This entire series was such a wild ride. The character and plot development is something so subtle, you look back at the first book and wonder how this series ended like it did.
Am I crying over the last two chapters? Yeah. The ending is so bittersweet and beautiful.
