This book is lovely. A sweet romcom with a high school setting and interesting premise. As a first novel for the author, I was very impressed. Loved the banter and look forward to the next one!

Charming small town romance, the characters were lovable and the premise very enticing. I liked the dynamic of an English teacher who loves her job and a writer! This book had some wonderful quotes and the way Daniel proclaimed his love for Mac was very beautiful and reminiscent of pride and prejudice. Overall a very enjoyable story.

This book is cute but just missing a wow factor. I didn’t find anything unique or special about it. The characters aren’t super likeable. They aren’t unlikeable either. I just didn’t really feel the connection with them. But it’s a cute easy read and it’s well written.

If you're teacher, read this book. If you're an author...read...this...book! Allie wrote this for us - being an indie author myself, it really pulled on my heart strings!

What happens as a chance meeting and once in a lifetime kiss ends up because some much more for Daniel and Mac. Mac is a teacher in the suburbs of Chicago, adored by her students - and really you'll see why! When she meets Daniel, a writer who's stuck on his novel and needs inspiration and research - only to find Mac along the way.

This book handled so many topics and handled them so so beautifully. I loved the relationship with Mac and her students, you can tell she truly cares. Daniel is as sweet as can be - he shows love in a way that every woman craves. (When he comes to Mac even without be told *swoon*) He's so caring and wants what's best for her. I identified with Mac so well, even seeing my best friend in Macs best friend, Jenny. Macs inner thoughts and emotions were beautifully written and truly made you feel for her. There was twist didn't see and the ending.....oof....it had me.

I loved this so much and can't wait to see what else Allie has in store for these two. Wonderful novel!!

Favorite Quote (out-of many)

"We're all subject to imposter syndrome at some point in our careers, especially when we're good at what we do." - Allie to Daniel. (CHEFS KISS)

3.75 stars ⭐️ A fun debut novel that’s maybe a little cheesy, but in a sweet and wholesome way.

What I liked:
•Love letter to books and reading and teaching
•Sweet friendship between Mac & Jenny
•Teacher FMC x Author MMC
•A mostly light and easy to read romance
•Depiction of everyday grief

What I didn’t:
•It will forever annoy me when third-act breakups happen when they could’ve been avoided with some easy communication
