Our FMC says reading romance is “fun and emotionally comforting to know more or less how the story is going to play out.” And thats what we get here- some fun, a very earnest male love interest, and more or less exactly what we thought we were gonna get. Plus some platitudes about teaching public school, only delivered earnestly and honestly.
Very sweet, but only one spice pepper.

Not enough words,
I absolutely loved this book. The story, the characters, the romance, the comedy, the back to back, the tears, and all. I absolutely loved every part of it, and I will probably reread at some point. I didn't want to put it down. Can't wait to continue on to the next story. I am so glad I got to read, because it definitely became one of these years' fav books.

I adored this book. Maybe I’m biased, being an English teacher myself (recently switched to seniors from sophomores, so to say I resonated with Mac and Jenny is an understatement). While I wished for a little more spicy scenes, that’s totally personal preference. Samberts perfectly blended romance with friendship with relatable, real life issues. I binged it in less than 24 hours. It’s a cute, swoony, relatable, teary-eyed comfort read that I’ll want to go back to again.

I was hooked on this book from the start. The story took a while to develop, but it really gave the characters time to develop and grow. I loved the book element in this story and that there was a lot of literature talk. I also liked Mac from the start and was rooting for her. Evan took a bit of time to grow on me, but he did and I appreciated his growth in the story. I loved Mac Best Friend Jenny. She was a real gem in this story. Overall this was a really lovely book about love, taking chances, and seeing yourself for who you are.
I received an advanced readers copy from the author. I typically don't read slow burns but I do enjoy occasionally reading a rom-com. This one turned out better than I thought it would, I found myself wanting to know what was going to happen next, which made it hard to put down. There was some slow parts that seemed to drag on but I still wanted to know how everything was going to work out, so I kept going. I enjoyed how the story turned out and I would recommend if you're into slow burns.
