It was nice to see Julie's side of the story

So happy to know they did not forget the commander. A quick read since it is a novella, but very enjoyable. I like that they had Julie own up to her behavior and truly transform herself. I also liked that the book addresses how different people react when in life threatening situations.

Protecting Julie shows that everyone can be redeemed especially when that person has been through what both Julie and Fiona went through while they were kidnapped in Mexico. With Tex,Missy Greenwood and her fiance Zane (who is on the Teams on the east coast) help, Julie is able to contact the commanding officer of the SEAL team, Patrick Hurt, that rescued her so that she can make amends for the way she acted when Cookie/Hunter came to rescue her from human traffickers. Not everyone wants her apology but she needs to do this before she can move on and come to gripes with her nightmares.

Julie moves to California and opens a thrift store with designer labels but also helps out women who are in need of clothing for a job interview as well as young girls who can't afford a prom dress for the dance. When Caroline, Alabama and Cheyenne come into the store she realizes that there husbands (and fiances) are the SEAL Team who rescue her and Fiona. But with Patrick's help, Julie is able to prove that she has changed and that she can love again with Patrick.

This is an addition to Susan Stoker's very popular SEAL of Protection series and I loved it!

Julie was the other woman we saw in Protecting Fiona. After getting away from a hellish situation, she realises her actions back then were terrible. She wants to make it right.

Tex agrees to give her the commander’s number to let her try convincing him to meet with his team.

Commander Hurt isn’t sure if he should open past wounds for his team. After he meets Julie, he decides she needs it. She had changed, and she wasn’t the woman she used to be.

They agree to go on a date before he helps her with his team. They hit it off and gave it a chance.

Julie takes off to help a child, and that might put her in danger. Hurt and a few of his men will have to look for her.

This book is about second chances and how people can change for the better. No matter how hard it might seem, if you work hard to change, you’ll get there.

It’s a quick read that holds a great deal of emotions inside it.

When Julie had a role in a previous story I couldn't stand her, she was a witch.
Bad circumstances bring out the worst in people and I'm so glad that the author gave us an insight into this character and the changes in her life. The Team's commander is our supporting character in this one, he's heard of her but meeting her was a whole different story. I loved their story, it wasn't long enough but none of them ever are when you just want more.

Trope: military romance novella

Julie was a huge b$@ch in a previous book in the series, but has done a lot of reflection after her kidnapping and is changing her ways. In fact she wants to apologize and thank her rescuers, but first she needs to convince their commander that she’s really changed. It was a pretty good novella and more honest than I expected.

Super fast read... but it absolutely did what it needed to. Gave Julie her redemption story without changing her base character... she took ownership and apologised. Love Hurt too. Odd, but Julie followed by Fiona are the most relatable characters... so far. Tex to come!!

Cute and short novella in the SEAL of Protection series.

Julie was rescued alongside Fiona in Protecting Fiona by Cookie. Now Julie is looking to reconnect with Cookie to thank him for rescuing her and apologize for the way she behaved when they first met. In her way is Commander Patrick Hurt, who is Cookie's boss, and she has to convince him that her intentions are true and noble.

Typical book for the series by the author. They are repetitive, but enjoyable for a fast listen. Always good characters and interesting stories. Good to get closer to this particular one.
