Well, I get it now. So this was not my first Andy Weir novel, but I finally understand the hype around this one, and it's well deserved. This was moving and witty all while maintaining a scientific air about it. I really thought this would be just another science fiction novel, no big deal, could be good but I won't love it. I was wrong. Weir MAKES you love his characters. There's a deeper theme about humanity as a whole here too that really makes this a ingenious piece of writing. The story is smart, in every way. I was nicely surprised and Weir's works are highly impressive in creativity as well as analytics.
