Rina Kent does it again. Honestly, I love her work and the element of mystery/surprise in every book. In this book you meet Georgie and Jasper. They have a brief encounter that sets off Jasper’s obsession. This obsession soon turns out to be deeper than anyone expected.
The most interesting aspect of this book to me was the mafia plot - since this is a duet I may read the sequel just so I can see how that plot gets resolved. {Edit: After reading several reviews of the sequel, I don't think I'll be satisfied with either the relationship development nor the plot so I've decided not to finish.}
The "romance" was where it fell flat for me. I love dark romances and psychopathic characters usually, but typically they will be redeemed a little by their inexplicable feelings for the love interest. In this one I just didn't get that, it didn't feel believable or redeemable. Jasper didn't have any feelings or even respect for Georgie, and she was a weak and timid character that I didn't enjoy reading about. Maybe that changes in the sequel, but in this one it just didn't work for me.
There is a lot of kinky sex that was done well, but I wasn't into the humiliation aspect of it. I was also a little annoyed with Georgie being so ashamed of what she wanted, but I can forgive that as it is probably realistic for some people.

DNF AT 69% !
I don't Usualy post about the unfinished books! But this one is a must!
Do I like to read about stalkers? No.
Do I think they are good and enjoyable books? Definitely no.
I was hoping it gets better but sadly it's getting worst.

Yes! I've been waiting for a good boundary-pushing book to come my way. I absolutely loved the gritty, perverse story that these two authors wrote. I'm a sucker for bad guys who fall in love/lust and this book delivered a brutally perfect story. I loved how sexy this book was and how it had me questioning my own wants and desires. I cannot wait for book 2!
