The ending destroyed me (sobbing) but I still think it was probably the right ending, though I definitely understand why some people didn't like it. Very impactful, makes a hell of a statement on rape culture, and somewhat hopeful in the sense that maybe things can change when we stand up for ourselves as women. It's so f*cked up, the things teenage girls go through.

#MeToo... And I wish I had read this book when I was a teenager, maybe I would have understood it wasn't my fault.

This is a reread, but I already had figured out the ending when I read it the first time, because it's clear
It's about a balancing issue in justice. Alex Craft has to die (whether or not you think she deserves to) because the story would be severely unbalanced if she did not

It's a tear jerker, pack tissues.

“But boys will be boys, our favorite phrase that excuses so many things, while the only thing we have for the opposite gender is women, said with disdain and punctuated with an eye roll.”

I really love this book. It’s a very difficult read, but it’s so important. It examines rape culture in many different ways. I honestly really liked Alex as a character. She was interesting and I loved seeing how she was growing as a person. Jack for the most part I liked, but he made me uncomfortable and annoyed at parts(the point). I really loved his and Alex’s relationship. I did enjoy peekay as a character as well and her friendship with Alex, and Sara and Alex and peekays friendship.
