Oh my!!! Amazing love and all the feels!!!

This is another wonderful addition to the Wilde Series and you just cannot help but love Otto and Seth. I mean this is a love that started as children and held
strong even through separation and life. Just freaking amazing.

3.5 Stars

I have to agree with a few of the other reviews on this one. The sub-plot was a bit absurd. Really this book should have just been a reunited love novella. Walker and Wilde were adorable together. I liked their story, but the mystery/suspense elements that were added in were unnecessary and really didn't make much sense.

I really liked Seth and Otto. I liked that their teenage love survived and was renewed getting back together. Sure Seth not telling Otto what was going on back when they were teenagers was silly, but that could be passed off as teenage stupidity. But the miscommunications as adults started to get a bit absurd. Really so much could have been passed off and not happened if they'd just talked to each other about things.

The entire mystery/suspense fires element was just over played and took away from the story of the two guys. I'm leaving this as a 4 star read because I liked the characters and their relationship. It was very sweet. But the second half, really final third of the book just had me going :-p.

Weakest book in the series

I’m sorry, but the characters in this book irritated me to no end.

Seth was beyond stupid and marrying his brothers girlfriend to get her help was ridiculous. Also he needed to dump his parents asap. They were teaching his daughter/niece/idk at this point because they called her different things, homophobic language and everyone was just… okay with that?!

Otto for forgiving Seth so quickly and then attempting to take the fall for the arsonist.

And… everyone just forgives the arsonist because he’s a kid? Like Otto is prepared to go to jail, lose his job and be blacklisted from his job FOREVER, because of this kid? Who was angry because life isn’t fair? Uhm, no thanks.

Also, Jolie for being the absolute worst.

I know there’s like 93753792 family involved here but my god they need to stop interfering and let people figure out their own crap.

Yikes

This book was so frustrating. The side characters were infuriating but even worse were the main characters who were spineless doormats.

The romance was more of a boring side plot than a main story line.

Hoping book 4 is better...

I usually wouldn’t rate or write a review for a book that I DNF, but I feel like I’ve spent quite a significant amount of time trying to read this series, so I’m counting it all together as reading one of them. This series apparently really isn’t for me, since lots of people love it, but I can’t seem to actually care about the characters enough to read the whole thing.

In the first book, I couldn’t get past about 37%. Nico was judged SO MUCH right from the start on his appearance. It was annoying. I get that they were mad that he disappeared from his family and town, but he was literally being bullied the last time we saw him, and clearly the town wasn’t that accepting before. With the second book, I couldn’t really get past the first chapter. I just didn’t really care. And with this one, I got to about 34% and I didn’t want to continue because they were already together and in love again and there was still so much of the book to read? I didn’t like the instant forgiving/sex scene after TEN WHOLE YEARS of silence and without discussing any of the conflict between them. I really did like the beginning with them as teenagers, but idk I wasn’t feeling it between them as adults with all the other circumstances added in.

I also don’t understand how, in a town literally FULL of gay people of alllll ages, not only is there a significant amount of homophobia in the first book, but also things like this about a female deputy:
"I knew she still caught hell working as a sheriff’s deputy in small-town Texas with the unforgivable trait of being a female."
So I’m supposed to believe that in “small-town Texas” people are perfectly fine with their doctor being gay, their sheriff being gay, the bakery owner being gay, the fire chief being bi, their old doctor being gay, and nearly every other Wilde being gay, along with TONS of random characters being super out and proud, but they have a problem with a woman being a deputy???? Obviously it would be amazing for a town to be that accepting of everyone’s sexuality (and I’m sure that there are places like that) BUT WHY WOULD THEY ALSO HAVE AN “UNFORGIVABLE” PROBLEM WITH A FEMALE DEPUTY??? That one line bothered me so much. It just doesn’t make sense in a book like this where so many other things seem to be incredibly accepted.

Anyways I respect everyone who loves these books because they do have cute moments, they just really weren’t for me. I tried.

Love the Wilde's so much

This is the third instalment in the Wilde series and I love these books so much they are well written, grip you from the start and don't let go until long after you finish and are impatiently waiting for the next one.

This book is a second chance at love book, friends to lovers and has Doc and Grandpa in it.
Otto and Seth have loved each other since they were children but a move away ripped this pair apart and separated them for 10 long years, Otto came home after being in the navy and found that Seth had come back and was the sheriff but nothing is straightforward.
Great book from a fabulous author.

2.5 rounded down

More of a plot than the first two, though the relationship resolved itself a bit faster than I would have liked. Again, okay, nothing stunning, but for the mood I was in, it worked.

This book takes you on an emotional journey making you feel like are there living the events happening. From beginning to end you can’t put it down and want to know what’s going to happen again.
A book I could read again and still be entranced every time.

I really enjoyed this one! It pulled me in from beginning to end and held my attention the entire time. I loved Otto and Seth together and watching them finally getting their second chance to be together. They were childhood best friends and sweethearts and then Seth's parents moved them from Texas to Minnesota and the two were still determined to be together until sometime in their senior year when they were planning their colleges to go to the same one when Seth sent a letter to break up with Otto without much explanation. Now 10 years later, they are both back in Hobie and they still have that crazy connection and love for each other. With Otto coming back, Seth is ready to make some of the changes and have his chance with Otto. These two are so cute together but they definitely have some outside obstacles that they have to overcome. I loved their relationship and they way they are with each other. It is so cute and adorable. It is obvious that they are just right for each other and really bring out the best in both. I liked that this one was easy for these two. The trouble they had, really was all from outside influences and wasn't problems between them or with them not wanting to be together. This story was well written and engaging the entire time. I loved how easy it was to engage and stay engaged with both Otto and Seth throughout.
