I love Roxie Noir…

So I had to read Christmas Eve at KRBZ. I know strange title, but the country radio station is home for a lonely producer who didn’t know she was lonely and a sexy new DJ. And guess what they hook up, spectacularly. Sweet sexy short read.

ARC - two of my favorite authors have stories in here (Roxie Noir and Serena Bell) and both those stories were 5 stars. My other favorite was Always be my Babka by Melonie Johnson which was a Jewish story with a single mom with teenaged daughters.

I received this as an arc from one of the authors and I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review.

My review is for the following stories:

Playing by Heart by Sylvie Stewart: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was a cute little story. It had a lot of humor and warmth. Grady and Kat were a cute couple but I would have liked a bit more closure to the story.

Better Than Christmas by Brenda St John Brown and Serena Bell: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was a really cute best friend’s brother romance. The storyline was cute and entertaining. Conner and Mika had such great chemistry and even though their story was short it felt complete.

Hang Your Heart by Arell Rivers: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was a sweet office romance. I really liked the scavenger hunt and the matching red dresses were cute. Blake and Stephanie had good chemistry and I liked the story.

Hell of a Heart-on by Marika Ray: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was a great fake relationship romance. I absolutely adored Cheyenne, such a cutie pie. Ben and Aspen didn’t have the smoothest of starts but they made up for it in the end.

Christmas Eve with KXBZ by Roxie Noir: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was great office romance. I really liked the story. Coby and Fletcher had a great banter game going on and I was all for it. I would have liked to have a bit of the story from his point of view but I liked it all the same.

Love by chance by Claire Marti: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was such a cute story. I loved the idea of the wrong number text coming at just the right moment. Trent and Camille had an instant connection and great chemistry.

Heart Healthy Hot Sticky Buns by Kameron Claire: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was a fantastic reverse age gap romance. It was short and to the point but still had heart. I loved the instant attraction between Jane and Christof, they had such amazing chemistry and I really enjoyed reading their story.

Holiday Heart-On is an anthology featuring 19 awesome rom-com writers. This was a wonderful group of short stories that were a lot of fun to read! Some of the authors were ones that I knew and loved, and some were new authors that I want to check out more of!

Of the authors I had read, I really liked Better than Christmas by Brenda St. John Brown and Serena Bell. This was a cute best friends brother romance. I knew Connor from reading the Wilder novels, which I think allowed me to connect to this story more. I think I liked this story because there was a previous connection between the characters, it makes it feel more believable and like the relationship could develop so quickly.

I also found myself enjoying the short stories that had women in their 40's who were either widowers or divorced, single parents. My particular favourites were Always Be My Babka by Melonie Johnson and Hooking Her Heart by Sophia Henry. I have already put books by these authors on my Goodreads TBR list!

Some of my other favourites were stories that either took place over a period of months, like Christmas Eve with KXBZ by Roxie Noir or that had previous relationships like Mistletoe Wishes by Stina Lindenblatt.

The best part of this anthology was that it is for charity, the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women movement, and they introduced the charity and "funraiserrs" in unique and different ways. This short story collection will have something for everyone, different reads and different steam levels.

Thank you to the authors for a copy of this book. All opinions are 100% mine.

I love a holiday themed anthology! I don’t necessarily want to dedicate myself to a holiday themed book but a holiday themed anthology always gets me into the holiday spirit. These bite-size stories perfect for a cup of tea and a sit down. I’m a big fan of all of these authors especially Roxie Noir. My only complaint is now I want them all to be full length novels!

Thank you for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

*this e-arc was sent to me by the author to give an honest review in return*

This was such an amazing book filled with a variety of short stories from different authors. This will be a different type of review as I won't be going into details of every single one of the stories as that would take a long time. This book consists of 19 short stories which are all different and written by many authors. I picked up this book because one of my favorite romance authors, Serena Bell, is featured so I knew I had to check out her story. It was also great to discover new authors who I never heard of before and get a feel of their writing from a small piece of their work. I also enjoyed the fact that you can sample so many different romance tropes, spiciness, characters, etc all in this one novel. Even though the stories are different, it still feels great to finish a story so quickly when you don't have much time. It's also perfect for the holiday season so I mostly recommend reading it during the holidays if you want spicy short stories also this book benefits the American Heart Association. I truly enjoyed this book and had no problems with it. My favorite short story was of course Better than Christmas by Brenda St John Brown and Serena Bell

Review for Hooking Her Heart by Sophia Henry

Claire, the female lead, has been recovering from her divorce and being an artist and single parent, as well as volunteering for charity fundraisers. Nick, the male lead, is a volunteer at a dog wash and they agree to bid on each other at the date auction, so neither ends up with someone strange. Nick is too young to want her surely…

This short story is female lead POV, well written, and appears to be a cute introductory prequel to a presumably longer romance for these characters. The story is cute and contains the possibility of romance.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
