3.5 zvaigznes. autore mēģināja skarbi attēlot citādā pieņemšanu sabiedrībā, bet līdz galam viņai tas tomēr nesanāca. pa vidu maisījās visi citi notikumi, kas traucēja un sašķēla stāstu vairākās daļās.

As I wrote in my review of The Fifth Child, I almost didn’t want to read this book because the first was so good. I’m so glad to have read this follow up! While the rest of the world possibly, probably, is reviled and afraid of Ben, I could only feel enormous sympathy for him. He defied all expectations of everyone who ever came into contact with him, especially his father. But the ending, though it was likely the only logical conclusion, nonetheless gutted me. I hope Therese and Alfredo love him always. I certainly shall.

I think this is the first book I have ever DNF'ed in my life. I pushed myself to get through The Fifth Child, and I was hoping that this book would be better. I only made it to page 35 when I asked myself why I was forcing myself to suffer through a book that I was absolutely hating, and that had a story I could not follow. I have always kept every single book I've purchased. However, this and The Fifth Child will be going to Goodwill.
