I did like this, tho the one character thought the other one was straight but still gave him special treatment for . . . being hot, I guess? It was mostly cute, and obviously there is a misapprehension, but I did roll my eyes a bit at MC1. Would have liked a little more time with them together at the end, as well.

This was an adorable Christmas tale. I loved how sweet Grant was with his lies about private lessons to give little Aubrey a chance to make her gifts and to spend time with Josh. The miscommunications were perfect and sweet and made for a beautiful tale.

Yup, this is it. This is my favorite of the Stocking Stuffers bunch. You'd think I'd learn that the Bru Baker Christmas stories are my faves. I loved Talk Turkey too. It's amazing I like them so much because neither story has any sexual content (plenty of innuendo though: ornament balls and bottoms in this one/turkey stuffing in the other) and the ending is HFN at best. The ending feels like a beginning, but a strong one. Overall a good Christmas story I read on Valentine's Day.

Another good short Christmas story.
Grant is the run off his feet store owner - though this time, happy with Christmas!
His best intentions are derailed by handsome dad Josh and cute daughter.
Well written, not too sugary sweet - no xmas cookies in sight!
The truth of Josh and Aubrey’s relationship is apparent- unless you are Grant and too focussed on his crush!

This story was so sweet and really captured my heart. I wanted a physical copy to hold to my chest and squee because it was perfect.

Grant is a hard-working owner of a crafts shop aimed at kids, something I would have loved when I was a kid myself. I hope the author does a release at some point and provides some of the crafts Grant and Aubrey do during their private lessons as a bonus, because I really want to have a go myself.

Grant embodies the saying assumptions make an ass out of you and me, as he spends most of the story believing Josh to be Aubrey’s dad, and never questions if it’s true—even when Josh gives him clues that it’s not. The sheer joy Aubrey was having during her session reached out through the pages and warmed the heart. I loved her strong-headed nature and the ease and comfort Josh had in changing her mind.

Grant’s sweet nature was wonderful to read, and he took the teasing from his friends really well for choosing to give private lessons on his day off, so I was rooting for Josh to ask him out, and nearly dancing for joy at the climax. The entire story was just perfect, and I thoroughly recommend it with a cup of your favourite hot beverage!
