People just don’t write books like this anymore.

In this Hercule Poirot mystery, our little Belgian detective is on holiday at an out-of-the-way seaside hotel. A beautiful young woman, Arlena Marshall, is found murdered on a secluded beach.

This book demonstrates all of Christie's considerable skill. The characters are carefully crafted, life-like and memorable, the plot is thick and ingenious, and the solution fits perfectly.

In the end, the murderer is
Spoiler Patrick Redfern, the man who was supposedly having his head turned by young Mrs. Marshall. In actual fact, he was the one turning her head, quite literally, since he strangled her. His alibi accounted for all his time until he found the body together with another witness. His wife had been posing as the dead body. After the witness left to inform the police, Mrs. Redfern leaves and Mr. Redfern strangles Mrs. Marshall.

"...and that little foreigner with the moustache - makes me laugh that moustache of his! I should say he's a hairdresser, something of that sort." <3 Hercule Poirot is my favorite pansy

It's like a Scooby Doo episode, and I won't elaborate on that + I really thought I've got it figured out, but I was wrong as usual, silly me.
