This one I love so much and while I see some of the flaws, I forgive all of them. Even the final lines. I can't really talk about why I love this story so much without spoiling, but this one I extremely highly recommend. Even if you are used to watching the Peter Ustinov/Maggie Smith version.

This one has a fun, vivid setting and distinctive characters. The big reveal only happens after Poirot stages a picnic--a risky delay.

“Ah! Madame, I reserve the explanations for the last chapter.”
And so does Poirot :0)
This novel has it all: a crime (obviously), a whole cast of potential murderers, a beautiful setting that acts as a character (Smugglers’ Island was based on Burgh Island), and one very smart if peculiar Belgian. Christie went all in in this story, throwing so many red herrings that you wouldn’t know whether you’re coming or going. She is also so masterful in her portrayal of characters, using stereotypes to great effect but also surpassing them. And let’s not forget the humour! In all, a little gem that can be read anywhere, not just by the beach/swimming pool.
“It is peaceful. The sun shines. The sea is blue. But you forget, Miss Brewster, there is evil everywhere under the sun. ”

Another performance from the one and only Hercules Poirot !
It's not my favorite as the conclusion is a bit far-fetched, but I'm still a huge fan of Agatha Christie's work

Agatha Christie is my mom's favourite author, so I decided to read more of her books. Weeeeeeell, it was a good read. I love "whoddunit" tropes.
