Kept me guessing, although some of the gender stereotypes were a tad strong in this one.

Poirot can never take a vacation, it seems, because even when he is holidaying, some murder catches up on him.

Poirot is enjoying a quiet seaside holiday in Devon. There are a diverse and interesting set of guests in the hotel. Arlena Stuart, being the most noticeable among them, who is openly flirting with a man. Both their spouses are also staying in the hotel and needless to say, are not happy with their behavior. Poirot senses a sexual tension in the air even before anything happens. And then, of course, the murder. Arlena is found dead, strangulated at Pixy Cove.

There are a number of suspects, a number of motives. But was she murdered because of her flirtatious behaviour or was something else brewing under the sun? It is written in a typical Agatha Christie style, where you’re kept guessing till the end. A good, short read.

I can never say anything bad about books written by the Queen of mystery page turners.

This was a good one. About a dozen people vacationing on an island and one just be the murderer. When Arlene dies there is no love lost among any of the guests nor much shock at her death. Poirot carefully pieces together the mystery with many suspects and a variety of motives.

This is one my favorite Agatha Christie novels. I had in my mind to reread a bunch of them, but it seems I remember just enough to spend the whole time trying to fit the story to my recollection -- very annoying ;)
