If you are interested in botany and live in London this book is really informative, but it’s too light touch on each explorer to be engaging.
I thought the writing was not great and there were some quotes that made me cringe. The authors are not thoughtful about colonialism and classism. Classic Brits.
Worth just looking up Marianne North if you haven’t heard of her, some other great books about her are available.
