This modernized retelling of Pride and Prejudice was absolutely scrumptious! It had just the right amount of snark and steam. I have been a huge fan of books that normalize and embrace sex and A Certain Appeal is going right up there with The Roommate and The Kiss Quotient as one of my absolute favorite romances to recommend. The characters came from diverse backgrounds and honestly everyone needs to read this book strictly for Ming DyNasty. She stole the show and I would like an entire book about her life, please and thanks! Overall, a well written and unique addition to the numerous Pride and Prejudice retellings out there. One I recommend everyone should read.

Thank you to Putnam Books and Netgalley for an eARC in exchange for an honest review. Opinions are my own.

A near perfect book for me. Enjoyed to lovers, P&P retelling, burlesque, stage names, building design/interior design, queer, and so fun. Literally my only quibble is that there's no way someone with only a summer internship worth of design experience
could get a building designed, documents, through permit, and constructed in 2 months...
but that's just my architect side showing, and I can't turn that off...

the expectations were high, but it all seemed too predictable and the writing sometimes cringy. I expected a lot.

It was a sweet book but it wasn’t incredible. Maybe if I read pride and prejudice, I would have more of an appreciation for this book. It was really cute with the found family and the romance but not greater than other romance books I’ve read.

 5 stars!

I don't think any Pride & Prejudice reimagining could ever be less than 5 stars in my mind as it's my favorite book ever. This is no exception. I was going to physically read it until I found out Julia Whelan reads it and that caused me to find the audiobook as fast as I could.

This book being set in a burlesque story with a delightful band of characters (and Jane being a gay man) is utterly the most enjoyable thing I've ever experienced. Considering that the main P&P characters all have the same names in some form as the original is delightful. The modern re-telling with the added spice was just everything I ever could've wanted from this story.

This book had me laughing, but my favorite quote (new forever favorite quote) is: He leans in which puts him in motorboating distance from my cleavage which really shouldn't be in my awareness right now, but, damnit, adrenaline does strange things to a gal's body chemistry."

would’ve probably had a greater appreciation for this book if i had also read or knew anything about pride and prejudice
