What a book. I thought I’d get bored because it was so long but things just kept happening! Usually I don’t like this either but it all worked well.

I really liked that as the book went on you slowly start to realise his plan of revenge, you know he’s going to get revenge but you’re not sure how. It gets built up throughout the story and all becomes clear at the end. I really enjoy this style of writing as it keeps me wanting to read more.

I like the contrast of him being such a kind man to tearing down his enemies and having more money than sense and kind of swaying between the two. He’s doing things for the right reasons but maybe taking it too far?

I liked being able to follow other characters in the story as it definitely helped me be less bored of reading about the same thing for over 1000 words and it gave you a sense of the people that he likes to surround himself with and the people who he is seeking revenge with.

this book wassssss not bad?? i liked it but it was really hard to get through in a lot of spots. i LOVED when he was in the prison with abbe faria (my favorite character) but everything after that waassss idk how to put it into words. ireally liked how some characters were written, especially valentine!! but i feel like this book had a lot of unnecessary scenes and being honest here at one point i got so tired of reading it i just read chapter summaries online instead. got recommended this by my school counselor because i said i liked classics so thats really the only reason i picked up this book. OVERALL i think the characters were written really well but it was just hard to get through.
