The book has a good plot and somewhat lovable characters (although Nimh was annoying sometimes) but a lot of plot holes that don’t get resolved one that irritated me so much was why the crown that Nimh used to go to that cloudlands didn’t work when North tried to use it again?! He was told it was destroyed but with no other explanations of how or when, and you can’t justify that with “it can only be used once” because it was used before with Inshara’s father.

So, I really wanted to like this book. Actually, I thought I would really like this book. However, it didn’t quite live up to my expectations

I've had my eye on this book for a long time, and I am pleased to say that it was everything I hoped it would be, and more. The story, characters, and world are among the most unique and fun to delve into. This tale of star crossed lovers and two worlds colliding made for a compelling read and left me craving the next instalment.

Kaufman and Spooner work wonderfully together to create two unique worlds that collide. The twist of fantasy in this sci fi world never feels boring or forced. Everything flows wonderfully and makes me want to know more about both sides of this sky.

Nimh and North are sweet and innocent, but also have big and strong hearts as they try to cope with events that question their beliefs. I love their interactions and already want to see more of them together. The side characters are three dimensional and carry their own secrets that affect the two leads.

This is a surprise hit from the two authors, and the intense ending made me want to keep reading well into the night. A must have for sci fi, fantasy, and romance fans!

I loved the mix of fantasy and sci fi, which is a bit of a coincidence considering I just finished Lord of Light. I'm curious if the was some inspiration taken from Lord of Light. Anyway the Bindle Cat is the real MVP of the story and I loved eveytime he was on the page. The book ends with quite I cliffhanger and I'm thrilled the sequel drops next month. I listened to the audio book which was fantastic. Also I'm convinced Amie did most of the writing for Tyler's POV in the Aurora Cycle. North was giving me mad Tyler vibes. The blend of magic and science was masterful and I want to know all the things. I picked this book up on an audible sale and that was the best decision ever. I will for sure have to check out more of Meagan and Amie's work. Solid 5 star read.
