A tender read. It spoke to me on a personal level as I share Mitch Albom’s fears about starting a family young. His writing is earnest, humble and moving. There are simple wisdoms in this book; it teaches you about selflessness, love, joy, family, trust, faith, wander and strength. It asked uncomfortable questions and provides not the answer but a fellow human’s response.

This book had me in tears, but it was well worth it because Chika's life deserves to be recognized. I enjoyed learning about this little girl and her big personality. The author also includes inspirational lessons on parenting/family/love. I did not agree with everything pertaining to the Alboms' thoughts about Chika's medical providers, but these things were always treated in a respectful way in this book, with the acknowledgment that no one in these situations knows the "right" thing to do.

Thank you, Mr. Albom, for sharing Chika's story with us.
